Interning is a great way to get a close look at the company and the industry. We accept college interns each semester (fall, winter, spring, summer), and we have enjoyed having interns from UNCC, Kings College, Appalachian State, Western Carolina, University of South Carolina, The Art Institute, Johnson & Wales, and many other institutions. Our interns have the opportunity to learn about all facets of the events business, everything from design to accounting. During your internship at Clarke Allen™ you will be encouraged to: discover your talents, work on actual programs, learn about all the services offered at Clarke Allen™, network with industry professionals, and you will receive valuable career advice.

Internship Focus

Design & Production Internship – This is your opportunity to collaborate with the team at Clarke Allen™ to learn how sight, sound, touch, taste and even scent contributes to creating a truly memorable event. This allows you the chance to be involved in the design from beginning to end from initial research and coordinating, to helping our staff plan for the implementation of the overall event, as well as contributing to the day of installation and breakdown.

Marketing and Public Relations Internship – If your focus is on marketing, If you excel in using the written word and if you possess strong editorial or public relations skills we have just the spot for you helping us give a voice to all that we do here at Clarke Allen™. You will have the opportunity plan and implement our social marketing strategies: twitter, facebook, pinterest, instagram, youtube, and blogging. There is the opportunity to develop internal marketing events, collateral creation, and LifeStyles product promotions.

Requirements:
We are looking for motivated people who are interested in pursuing a career in the events, public relations, or retail industry.

What we look for in a candidate:
An individual who has a passion for the hospitality and service industry,  a great attitude and the desire to learn every aspect of our company and the business. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently while taking initiative on all projects assigned to you. You must have the ability to think on your feet, follow through, and the willingness to handle any task or opportunity presented to you.

Skills you must have before applying:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experienced use of office equipment including: phones, fax, copier and computers
